9.8 hours of read Afaan Oromoo speech from 74 contributors, recorded and peer-validated by community members in Ethiopia, then screened for audio quality. Afaan Oromoo is spoken by more than 35 million people and has almost no openly licensed speech data. Published free under CC BY 4.0, with speaker-disjoint train, validation and test splits so a model is never evaluated on a voice it was trained on.
